is one of Europe’s leading new music ensembles. This Polish collective of solo singers operates as a unit for special vocal assignments, transcending traditional chamber music. Since 2012, it  has set trends in ensemble singing, combining the charisma of  avant-garde vocal theatre with the craftsmanship of the British  vocal tradition.

Artistic director Piotr Pieron shaped the group’s unique sound,  drawing on his experience with world-class ensembles (The King’s  Singers, Voces8, Cantando Admont).

proMODERN regularly appears at leading Polish festivals  (repeatedly at Warsaw Autumn) and on European stages, from  France through England and Italy to Finland. It has given dozens of world premieres and recorded extensively for Polish TV  and Polish Radio. The group regularly cooperated with leading  orchestras such as the Warsaw Philharmonic, NFM, NOSPR,  and Sinfonia Varsovia. In the 2023/2024 season, it was Artist-inResidence at the Szczecin Philharmonic.

The ensemble has won numerous awards, including five Fryderyks  for its four studio albums. Gramophone described the group as  “a composer’s dream” equipped with an “enormous technical  toy-box.”

Through its repertoire, proMODERN promotes Polish culture  in Europe and worldwide, leading the native style of ensemble  singing. It navigates every contemporary aesthetic with absolute  mastery, making the beauty of singing its ultimate priority.
