graduated with honours from Zbigniew Kamionka’s flute class at the Cracow Academy of Music (1993). She then obtained her postgraduate degree in flute from Elżbieta Gajewska-Gadzina’s class at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (2002). In 2012 she completed a PhD internship with Michel Moraguès at the Pôle Supérieur d’Enseignement Artistique de Paris, followed in 2013 by a PhD from the Cracow Academy of Music. She developed her abilities at courses and workshops notably with Ricardo Kanji (early music performance), Wil Offermans (contemporary music performance), Kathrin Lukas, Jerzy Mrozik, János Bálint, and Nicola Mazzanti (piccolo flute performance). She is the cofounder of Ara Ensemble, specialising in contemporary music, with which she recorded an album for Edmonton Composers’ Concert Society in Canada (2005). Her 2019 CD Romantic Sonnet was recorded jointly with pianist Sławomir Kokosza. 

She has taken part in numerous festivals and meetings including the Piano Forum Basel, Music Festival of Young Musicians’ Society in Daegu, Write and Play in Cracow, International Competition of Young Culture in Düsseldorf, Days of Andrzej Panufnik’s Music in Cracow, Warsaw Autumn, Arts Festival Dimension in Seoul, International Flute Festival in Poznań, International Festival of Contemporary Music held as part of the Days of Music by Cracow Composers, and International Festival of Polish Music in Cracow. 

Renata Guzik teaches the flute class at the Academy of Art in Szczecin.
