born in 1977 roku in Warsaw, he studied at the Leon Schiller National Film School in Łódź, Direction of Photography and TV Production Department notably under Ewa Braun, Mieczysław Jahoda, Andrzej Jaroszewicz, Witold Sobociński, and Jerzy Wójcik.
Currently he is a Professor of Arts. In 2016–20 he was dean of the Faculty of Media Art, and since 2020 he been Vice-Rector for External Relations and Promotion of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He runs the Visual Relations Studio, whose graduates won the Best Degree Works of the Academy four times. He also lectured at the Warsaw Film School.
As a research manager for three projects and for his contribution to the educational and scholarly development of the Academy, he received four Rector’s Award, including the most prestigious: the Pegasus Award.
His art practice encompasses two fields: art photography and lighting and video projections design for theatre productions. He has created many highly rated photographic projects, including Family Portrait, Duration of Space,Absence, Homage to Piotr Łazarkiewicz, Perfectly Happy People andFor a Moment I Had Everything.
He has presented his works at several dozen exhibitions in Poland and internationally, including individual shows such as Photographies (Photographers’ Union Gallery in Vilnius, 2008), Unseen Memories (Gallery B&B, Bielsko-Biała, 2012), Photographies (Test Gallery, Warsaw, 2013), Traces(Patricia & Philip Frost Museum, Miami, 2015), For a Moment I Had Everything (Foto Gen, Wrocław, 2020).
He is the author of numerous publications, including three monographs. His works are held in several dozen private collections and museums in Poland and internationally.
In the field of lights design, he has cooperated since 2007 with theatres such as the Grand Theatre – Polish National Opera, Rozmaitości Theatre in Warsaw, Nowy Theatre in Poznań and Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Cracow. During a decade of work in this field, he has designed lighting for almost y productions, working with directors such as Izabela Cywińska, Grzegorz Bral, Zbigniew Brzoza, Andrzej Domalik, Robert Drobniuch, Natalia Korczakowska, Bogusław Linda, and Rudolf Zioło.
He is also a tutor in the Gaude Polonia programme. In 2017–18 he was a member of the expert team evaluating research project for the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Since 2019, he has been an expert for the Polish Accreditation Commission. For his achievements for Polish culture, he received the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis in 2016.
