Polish contemporary music ensemble founded in 2017 in  Wrocław by Aleksandra Gołaj (percussion), Rafał Łuc (accordion), and Jacek Sotomski (electronics, computer). The trio specialises in performing the latest music and often swaps its instruments for cables, samplers, keyboards, recitation and singing.

Since its inception, the ensemble has focused on cooperating with  Polish composers such as Piotr Bednarczyk, Monika Dalach Sayers, Nina Fukuoka, Kuba Krzewiński, Paweł Malinowski, Piotr  Peszat, Teoniki Rożynek, Rafał Ryterski, Monika Szpyrka, Marta Śniady, Rafał Zapała, and Aleksandra Słyż. It also works with  renowned international artists including Cezary Duchnowski,  Neo Hülcker, Kelley Sheehan, Simon Løffler, Jorge Sanchez-Chiong, Mathew Shlomowitz, and Jennifer Walshe.

Over the years, Ensemble Kompopolex has performed at Poland’s  leading contemporary music festivals including Warsaw Autumn,  Sacrum Profanum, Festival of World Premieres, Musica Polonica  Nova, and Musica Electronica Nova. The ensemble has also given  concerts as part of the Experimental Tuesdays series, at the Kontrapunkt Festival in Szczecin, NeoArte – Synthesiser of Art Festival in Gdańsk, and Kody Festival in Lublin. It has also appeared at  numerous European festivals including Time of Music in Finland,  Mixtur, Klang, Frequenz and Heroines of Sound, as well as in  the Open Music and Unerhörte Musik concert series.

Thanks to its extensive concert programme and cooperation with  artists from various backgrounds, Ensemble Kompopolex has  developed a distinctive artistic language, combining instrumental music, electronics and performance. Its work forms part of  the movement to popularise contemporary music: the ensemble  brings it to a wide audience and abolishes stereotypes associated  with its reception.

Since 2023, Ensemble Kompopolex has been working with sound  engineer Łukasz Myszyński, who is responsible for ensuring  the consistency and high quality of the sound during concerts.
