Sadkowska, Dagna
Graduate of Warsaw’s Chopin Academy of Music (Krzysztof Bąkowski’s violin class); co-founder and member of Kwartludium ensemble, soloist and chamber musician, known for numerous performances (including world premieres) of works by such contemporary Polish and foreign composers as Magdalena Długosz, Krzysztof Knittel, Wojciech Ziemowit Zych, Aleksandra Gryka, Lawrence Moss, Salvatore Sciarrino, Bernard Cavanna, Toshio Hosokawa, Aleksander Lasoń, and others. She has appeared at festivals such as the Warsaw Autumn, jaZZ & Beyond Improvised Music Festival in Katowice, Musical Seismograph III, Contemporary Music Lab, Contemporary Music Flying Academy, New Timbres of Gdańsk, Ad Libitum, Audio Art, Festival of Premieres Polish Modern Music in Katowice, and others.
For several years now, she has been active in the improvised music scene. As part of the “plain music” project, she has appeared with performers such as John Edwards, Le Qua Ninh, John Tilbury, Axel Dörner, Thomas Lahn, DJ Lenar, and many others. Sadkowska has authored music teaching handbooks (in Polish) titled Creative Encounters with Contemporary Music – Collected Exercises, Little Impro-Music Scenes, and Little Musical Classics. She is the music director of the Nowy Teatr Young Orchestra and curator of Warsaw Autumn Hits the Club.
