Zalewski, Ignacy
Born in 1990, composer, educator, and conductor, he graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he now teaches composition. He is the co-founder and artistic director of the Fryderyk Chopin University Modern Ensemble, the first regular new music ensemble at that university. Winner of more than 20 awards in national and international competitions for composers, he has recorded 19 albums, three of which have been nominated for Fryderyk Awards. His works are regularly performed at major Polish concert halls as well as throughout Europe and in the United States, China, Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam. He has written music for several dozen theatre, film, television and radio productions. Member of Society of Authors ZAiKS (since 2012) and of the Polish Composers’ Union (since 2022).
His interests include Buddhist philosophy, video games, and forgotten music.
