Żukowski, Włodzimierz
Composer, improviser, lighting designer and multimedia artist. Apart from composing music, his interests include such related fields as creative coding, stage lighting, and designing IT systems. All these disciplines converge in his art works, characterised by interdependence and interdisciplinarity. His compositions have been performed by such ensembles as Musikfabrik, Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, the Chopin University String Orchestra, and the Chopin University Modern Ensemble. His installations have been presented at Warsaw Autumn. Currently he collaborates with Patrycja Kołodziejska on “soundscapewalks,” an audiovisual installation aiming to explore the sonic identity of Warsaw.
Selected works: Concerto for quartertone Hammond organ, harp and string orchestra (2022), K5(6) for live electronics and ensemble (2023), Pyramid texts 436 for five voices and small ensemble (2023), an orange balloon drifting over snow-capped mountains – for e-guitar, ensemble, live electronics and lights (2024).
