Twelve years ago, outstanding soloist singers formed a vocal sextet, united by their passion and ability to interpret the most demanding works of today’s composers. In the spirit of this idea, proMODERN expands the horizons of its projects, modifying its vocal cast, inviting instrumentalists, and creating broad quasi-choir ensembles. For this year’s Warsaw Autumn, Piotr Pieron invited an octet of superb chamber singers to collaborate.

proMODERN has performed at many leading Polish and international festivals, in most Polish philharmonics, and has cooperated with the best Polish orchestras. In the 2023/24 season it held a residency at the Szczecin Philharmonic. The ensemble has given premieres of several dozen works by the most outstanding Polish composers. It is the only Polish vocal group to include Karlheinz Stockhausen’s legendary composition Stimmung in its repertoire. proMODERN has released four albums, which have been awarded a total of five Fryderyk prizes.

The ensemble’s artistic director is Piotr Pieron, an outstanding chamber musician who has been invited to cooperated with world-renowned groups such as The King’s Singers, Voces8, Ricercar Consort, and Cantando Admont.
