The piece is inspired by the observation of matter undergoing changes during the process of increasing temperature and combustion. References to the action of fire can be interpreted in many ways.

The multitude of unspeakable connections in the interpretative space between listener, performer and composer is certain and unpredictable, regardless of the content of the work’s description. Some will see it as a symbolism of purification or change, others will find references to destruction, degradation, environmental change, fear of war or burnout in given social functions; others yet will enrich the perception of the composition with their own insights.
