Atman / Jakimiak is an artistic duo formed by Agnieszka Jakimiak and Mateusz Atman, who have been working together since 2015. Their practice encompasses theatre, performance, music, visual arts, film, and new media. They create original performances and projects for repertory theatres and performing arts institutions, consistently crossing the boundaries between different artistic disciplines. Their work explores subjects including the body, sexuality, politics, ecology, mechanisms of representation, and relations of power.

In their work, Atman and Jakimiak combine critical reflection with formal experimentation, often employing humour, provocation, and direct audience engagement. They are interested in art as a tool for gaining knowledge and in its potential to create situations that allow us to look at reality from a different perspective. Their projects repeatedly address issues of censorship and self-censorship, hierarchies, social norms, and the boundaries of what can be represented and spoken.

The duo has created dozens of works, presented in Poland and internationally. Their joint projects include Soul-Eating Fear, Still Life, The Futurological Congress, Peasantry, Casting, Doors of Perception, and Susan Sontag. Their projects have been developed in collaboration with institutions including the Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw, Wrocław Contemporary Theatre, the Stefan Żeromski Theatre in Kielce, and the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Olsztyn.
