His output encompasses chamber, symphonic, electronic, and stage music. Before devoting himself primarily to composition, Gorzycki concentrated on performing music at the intersection of chamber music and improvisation. In 2018 he established the Foundation for Polish Chamber Music – ART MINTAKA, whose remit is to champion contemporary chamber music and commission new compositions and works of art from artists across a range of fields and disciplines. He devised the ART MINTAKA contemporary music festival and remains its artistic director. At his instigation, Bydgoszcz’s first new-music ensembles were formed: Ludzie z Vełny and Bydgoszcz Composers’ Collective.
He has cooperated on new music, chamber music and avantgarde jazz projects notably with Peter Kowald, Jon Rose, Fred Frith, Miho Iwata, Joanna Freszel, Kwartludium, NeoQuartet, New Music Orchestra, proMODERN, Zdzisław Piernik, Andrzej Bauer, Cezary Duchnowski, Leszek Możdżer, Mikołaj Trzaska, Tymon Tymański, and Lech Bałaban.
