Kazakh violinist admired for her uncompromising interpretations of contemporary music and unconventional approach to  early repertoire. She has released four solo albums, all highly rated by critics spanning music from her own compositions to  works by Telemann and Sciarrino. She has performed worldwide  in halls and venues including New York’s Carnegie Hall, Corum  Montpellier, and Tokyo’s SuperDeluxe.

She also composes music for film, theatre and dance. Her most  recent projects include Laaroussa Quartet by choreographers  Sofiane and Selma Ouissi, first presented at the Avignon Festival in 2025; OUR SOLO, a project realised in cooperation with  the ECCE Dance Company (2023); and Heartbreaking Final,  a piece written together with Tim Etchells and commissioned by  the Wiener Festwochen, subsequently performed at the Centre  Pompidou in Paris.

In 2021 she taught a violin class at the Darmstadt International  Summer Courses for New Music, as well as violin masterclasses  at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Together with pianist  Mark Knoop she received the Diapason d’Or for a recording of  Morton Feldman’s For John Cage.

She is a member of the Ictus ensemble in Brussels and a participant in the Makership programme at the Concertgebouw Brugge  in the 2025–27 seasons.
