Barszcz, Magdalena
Born in 1990; violinist, composer, and educator. She is particularly interested in cooperating with representatives of other fields of art and improvisation. She creates new pieces with dancers, visual artists, actors, and musicians. She shares her passion for music and composition working as a workshop leader with various social groups, in particular with teenagers in danger of social exclusion. She graduated from Robert Szreder’s violin class at Conservatorium Maastricht. During her studies, she developed her skills at many music and orchestral courses. She then spent a year in Tilburg in the class of Jenny Spanoghe, where she focused on performing contemporary music and collaborating with composers. She moved to London inspired by the city’s contemporary and experimental music scene. She took up a Music Leadership undergraduate course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, from which she obtained a master’s degree with honours in 2018 for the composition Kuki and her research on children’s imagination.
