Chołoniewski, Marek
born in 1953 in Cracow, composer, sound artist, performer, lecturer, and musical life animator. He has headed the Electroacoustic Music Studio of the Cracow Music Academy and the Audiosphere Atelier of the Department of Intermedia, Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He is the founder of the Centre Music Artistic Association and the Polish Society of Electroacoustic Music (PSeME). Since 2011 he has served as President of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music (CIME/ ICEM). He is the initiator and director of the Audio Art. Festival, founder and cofounder of numerous ensembles, including Freight Train, ch&k&k, Dizzy Kinetics, and Gruplab. Author of artistic projects, instrumental and electroacoustic compositions, sound and video installations, interactive, spatial, audiovisual, and network projects. Recipient of the Honourable Award of the Polish Composers’ Union, Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, as well as the Independent Project grant of the CEC ArtsLink in New York.
