Kowalczyk, Aleksandra
completed cultural studies at the Institute of Polish Culture, University of Warsaw and Bulgarian studies at the Institute of Western and Southern Slavic Studies of the same university. She has received scholarships from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, where she studied Bulgarian folk singing. She deals with the voice in both practice and theory. She founded the vocal improvisation group Syreny. She has collaborated with Glissando contemporary music magazine and Węgajty Theatre. She conducts vocal workshops “Przędzalnia głosu” (Voice-Spinning Mill). Her research interests include musical experience and the role of voice in various cultures.
