Wojciechowski, Sławomir
instrumental and electronic music composer, improviser, lecturer, creator of cultural events. In his artistic work he primarily focuses on the issues of quality, identity, and cultural contexts of sounds taken from various sources: instruments, samples, electronic transformations, objects, videos, etc. His compositions have been performed notably by the New Music Orchestra, Polish Radio Orchestra under Szymon Bywalec, JungeMusik Berlin, Kwartludium, Kwadrofonik, Cellonet, Smash Ensemble, Robin Rimbaud Scanner, Lux:NM, KammarensembleN Stockholm, Silesian String Quartet, NeoQuartet, and Plus-Minus. He is the co-founder of the Cybulski / Pałosz / Wojciechowski trio performing improvised instrumental-electronic music. In 2015 he was the curator (jointly with Monika Pasiecznik) of the Digital Revolution of Music festival organised by the Bęc Zmiana Foundation at the National Audiovisual Institute in Warsaw and devoted to the latest trends in European music and the ideas of German music philosopher Harry Lehmann. In 2007 he was the organisational director of the Musica Electronica Nova festival in Wroclaw.
He has published articles notably in Ruch Muzyczny and Glissando magazines; he also cooperated with the Polish Radio. He is a frequent guest on Polish Radio Channel 2, RDC, TVP Kultura, Pegaz, Deutschlandfunk, and SWR. He graduated from Marco Stroppa’s composition class and Mathias Hermann’s music theory and new media class at the State High School of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. He received scholarships from the Donaueschinger Musiktage, Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage, ZAiKS Association of Authors, President of the Capital City of Warsaw, and Institute of Music and Dance. He lectures at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
