Ruch, dźwięk i kolor, czyli wyspy na oceanie czasu (Motion, sound and colour, islands on the ocean of time) - Michał Silski

Motion, sound and colour are cyclical changes of energy in time. Within the in infinite spectrum of frequencies, they are three minuscule islands of human senses’ perception bands.

This installation was inspired by the phenomenon of synesthesia: perceiving sensations usually accompanying another sensory channel. For example, the sensation of colour or temperature triggered by a sound. The installation conveys the effect of synesthesia, mapping motion into sound and colour. It is composed of pendulum spheres that the spectator puts in motion and strikes off balance. The spheres exchange information about their motion, generating sound and coloured light.

The resulting composition of motion, sound and light is dependent on the spectator but also the laws encoded in the matter and software of the spheres.
