go to content

Percussionist and composer, graduate of Copenhagen’s Rhythmic Music Conservatory. For many years he has been active in the improvised music scene in Poland and Denmark. He records for independent labels (such as Pimpon) and collaborates with such initiatives as the Polish-Danish Idealistic Festival. Gąsiorek’s Pimpono Ensemble consists of Danish and Polish musicians. Similar in character is Wood Organisation, with a varying lineup, led by Gąsiorek jointly with multi-instrumentalist Tomo Jacobson. Gąsiorek performs solo, with Grzegorz Tarwid as Alfons Slik, with Tobias Pfeil in I Love My Mother, as well as in Tomasz Sroczyński’s trio and Franciszek Pospieszalski’s sextet. The duo Czajka and Puchacz (Kaja Draksler and Pimpon) plays joyful, almost frivolous improvised music, looking for ever new ways of reinterpreting the jazz-related language of improvisation.
