Gorwa, Magdalena
graduated from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, majoring in composition and theory of music in the class of Cezary Duchnowski and Paweł Hendrich. She held scholarships from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Mayor of Wrocław, and Society of Authors ZAiKS. Finalist of the Student Nobel Prize competition in the Art category.
Her compositions and arrangements have been performed in many cities in Poland and internationally, including in the United States, South Korea, Australia, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belarus. Her awards include the 1st Prize at the International Competition of 15 Quartets for the 15th Anniversary of the NeoQuartet (2021), 1st Prize in the International Composition Competition organised by The New Symphony Vienna (2020), and main prize in the National Composition Competition in Kalisz (2018).
Since 2016, she has continuously collaborated with the theatre community. She has composed music for more than 20 plays that have been staged at theatres such as Guliwer Puppet Theatre in Warsaw, Pinokio Theatre in Łódź, Opole Puppet and Actor Theatre, Tęcza Puppet Theatre in Słupsk, Kubuś Puppet and Actor Theatre in Kielce, Rabcio Puppet Theatre in Rabka-Zdrój, and many others. Since 2019, she is the composer of the Aczemu Theatre founded by Małgorzata Pilczuk, which disseminates children’s literature throughout Poland. She also composes music for trailers promoting Wrocław festivals and theatre performances. In 2023, together with two friends, she opened a private music school Spaces of Sound in Wrocław, where she teaches guitar, ukulele, piano, music theory, and composition.
