Composer and photographer, born in 1971 in Wałbrzych. He graduated in composition from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław after studying first with Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil and later with Stanisław Krupowicz. He completed his photography studies at Pho-Bos Wrocław Schools of Photography (a diploma with distinction from Natalia Lach-Lachowicz’s studio) and Warsaw’s European Academy of Photography. As an IRCAM fellow, he took part in computer music workshops in Helsinki and Paris. He was also awarded numerous scholarships by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as well as ZAiKS Creativity Support Fund. His works have been presented at such festivals as Musica Polonica Nova, Poznań Music Spring, WRO Media Art Biennale, Audio Art, the Warsaw Autumn, Beijing Modern, Alkagran, “Polish Modern Music” Festival of Premieres, and Kyiv Music Fest. With Cezary Duchnowski he founded Morphai audiovisual project group in 1997. Since 2009 Rupociński has been part of Tonus Finalis laptop ensemble, which performs its members’ electroacoustic works. 

He has collaborated with theatres such as Warsaw’s TR Warszawa and Dramatyczny (the Laboratory of Drama project) as well as Cracow’s National Stary Theatre. Rupociński is a lecturer at the Faculty of Graphics and Media Art of Wrocław’s Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design and the Chair of New Media at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. His compositions frequently combine music with interactive video art; he is also active in new media and multimedia installation programming. The artist is the initiator and coordinator of Random Check inter-university cyclic art project.
