A music composer and songwriter, vocal coach, singer and actress, who has worked for more than a decade in Warsaw’s urban folklore scene. Her accolades include an award for best film music at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival (jointly with Tomasz Waldowski,2024). She is the winner of competitions such as It’s Gonna Be Loud (Polish Radio Channel 4, 2024), International Song Festival – Trail of the Bards (2024), The New Sound of Warsaw’s Streets (2021), and Rocking – We’re Playing Maanam (2020), as well as the 2022 Warsaw Tribute poll for Warsaw Artist of the Year and Warsaw Hit of the Year (both for 2021). She also received the I.D. Media’s 2020 Inspiring Woman award. Having graduated in psychology from the University of Warsaw, Jary has long been active in the independent music and theatre scene, founding PompaDur band, with which she released Gory Ballads (2017), an album of old and new street ballads revolving around the topic of crime.

Since 2016, she has performed with Alegancka Kapela, a band that cultivates urban musical traditions, from street ballads to cabaret songs. Their 2023 album Ballads from Praga, comprising ten original songs that draw on the poetic realism of Praga North district and its surroundings, was listed among the ten best Polish albums of the year in the Polityka weekly’s poll. Jary’s numerous cultural and culture-building initiatives include creating the concept of Warsaw Street Ballads (2022), as part of which she conducted a cycle of workshops, song meetings and research work. She is the vocal coach of All Praga District Sings group and the Intergenerational Song Club (part of the STAYnia programme). She conducts folksong classes at Baza Theatre’s Theatrical Studio as well as voice workshops of her own design in the Free Your Voice series (with editions held in Warsaw, Cracow, Lisbon, Madrid, and London, among others).
