Rupociński, Marcin
Composer, media artist and photographer, born in 1971. He graduated from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław after studying composition with Stanisław Krupowicz. He completed his photography studies at Pho-Bos Wrocław Schools of Photography (degree with honous from Natalia Lach-Lachowicz’s studio) and Warsaw’s European Academy of Photography.
He has been an IRCAM fellow and has held multiple scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as well as ZAiKS Creativity Support Fund. His works have been presented at such festivals as Musica Polonica Nova, Audio Art, WRO Media Art Biennale, the Warsaw Autumn, Musica Electronica Nova, Beijing Modern, Alkagran, Festival of Premieres – Polish Modern Music, and Kyiv Music Fest. With Cezary Duchnowski, he founded the Morphai audiovisual project group in 1997. Since 2009 Rupociński has joined the Tonus Finalislaptop ensemble, which performs its members’ electroacoustic works. He has collaborated with theatres such as Warsaw’s TR Warszawa and Dramatyczny (Laboratory of Drama project) as well as Cracow’s National Stary Theatre. Rupociński is a lecturer at the Faculty of Graphics and Media Art of Wrocław’s Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design and at the Chair of New Media of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław.
His compositions frequently combine music with interactive video art. He is also active in new media and multimedia installation programming. The artist is the initiator and coordinator of Random Check interuniversity cyclic multimedia art project.
