Alongside his artistic work, he is deeply involved in music education and participatory arts practice. Trained in music pedagogy, he has devised educational projects introducing children and young people to experimental composition and contemporary music. His experience includes work with QuerKlang, the Berlin programme devoted to experimental composition in schools; composing an opera for children; and leading electroacoustic composition classes for pupils aged 12 and over. What unites Bohnenberger’s artistic and educational practice is the conviction that contemporary music can offer people of every age a space for creativity, cooperation and discovery.
