Jędrzejewska, Anna International Festival of Contemporary Music Warsaw Autumn

is a composer, pianist, interdisciplinary artist, improviser, curator  and director. She creates immersive audiovisual environments in  which sound, image, the body and space operate as interdependent fields of experience. Her practice grows out of improvisation  rooted in twentieth-century European art, experimental music,  electronics, performance and installation.

At the heart of her work is the relationship between sound and  image, explored particularly through video scores, and the question of how perception organises itself within complex configurations of signals, relationships and shifts. In a broadly Batesonian  sense, she approaches reality as an ecology of information: meaning arises not from isolated elements, but from the relationships,  patterns and feedback loops connecting them. For Jędrzejewska,  improvisation is therefore not simply a mode of expression, but  a method of activating and testing such systems in real time.

From 1992 to 1997 she studied composition with Bogusław  Schaeffer at the Academy of Music in Cracow. She further developed her practice at new music courses in Darmstadt, Stuttgart  and Cracow, and through work with Adam Kaczyński, Krystyna  Moszumańska-Nazar, Marek Chołoniewski, Lidia Zie liń ska,  Elżbieta Sikora, Matthias Hermann, Krzysztof Knittel, and  Wło dzi mierz Kiniorski. She also studied multimedia sculpture  with Antoni Porczak at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts  in Cracow. In 2009 she graduated in directing and editing from  the Warsaw Film and Television Academy, where her graduation  film was the documentary My Dad Is a Sculpture.

She won the 3rd Prize in the Gaude Mater Sacred Music Competition in Częstochowa for Pater Noster, and twice received  an honourable mention in the Tadeusz Baird Competition for  Young Composers, for emotion-s and Rhizm. In 2023, supported  by a grant from Warsaw’s Śródmieście District, she created a cycle of video scores for children. In 2025 she received a special commendation in the Maria Anto and Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven  Art Award for her outstanding commitment to women in education and culture. As a curator and organiser, she has helped shape interdisciplinary festivals and projects including Fortalicje, Intuitiva, New Art  Conference, Supersam Plus 1, MÓZG Festival, Warsaw Experiment Studio and Visionaries. She also helps run PanDymińska,  an independent art space in Warsaw. Her latest projects—Hybrid, Umbra, Somatic recycling and Talkativeness of Trees—develop spatial forms of electroacoustic composition, performance and audiovisual installation, exploring  resonance, transformation and the interdependence of elements  within the perceptual field.

Selected works and projects: Elementaries for harpsichord  and tape (2000, rev. harpsichord, viola da gamba and tape, 2003),  emotion-s for instrumental ensemble and tape (2002), Rhizm for  violin, cello and piano (2003), Energetic Resonance, improvised  multimedia performance for variable performing forces (with  Robert Jędrzejewski, 2013–14), Corposhamanism, performance  for female dancer, electronics and live electronic processing  (2020), Umbra, microopera for soprano, live voice processing,  electronics and video (2021), Somatic Recycling, solo performance within a video installation (2022), Hybrid, rap opera for rapper, four female performers and video (2022), Drizzle, Rain, Little  Flame, Rattle, miniature cycle in the form of video scores for children (2023), Video Score 04 for performer, electronics and video  (2023), Talkativeness of Trees, spatial electroacoustic composition  for an audiovisual installation with 8-channel sound (2025).
