Animato is made up of pupils in Years 4–8 at the John Paul II Primary School in Łazy. Founded in late 2006, it places its singers’  personal growth at the heart of its work, nurturing their sensitivity and giving them sustained contact with art and beauty. Since  2016 the choir has taken part in the Singing Poland programme. Among its principal distinctions are the Głubczyce Angel— the main prize at the Silesia Cantat festival; multiple Gold Band  awards and Special Award for the best primary school choir in  the regional Singing Poland competition; 1st Prize at the Asteriada Regional Festival of Children’s and Youth Creativity; two  Silver Band awards and two Special Awards at the national Music  Everywhere Festival of Contemporary Choral Music; 2nd Prize at  the 22nd International Festival of Christmas Carols and Pastorals  in Będzin; and four 1st prizes at the Patriotic Festival in Pamiątka. The choir took part in Singing Europe in 2016 and in recording  projects for the National Forum of Music and WSiP educational  publishing house. It has also performed at Warsaw Philharmonic, the Łódź and Wrocław philharmonics, the National Forum of  Music and Grand Theatre – Polish National Opera. It works regularly with the Municipality of Lesznowola, local cultural centres and parishes, and for several years has also performed with  the early-music ensemble Ars Nova.

Since 2016 Animato has given several world premieres of works  by contemporary Polish composers. In January 2020 it appeared  in A World Painted in Music, a concert forming part of the artistic component of its conductor’s doctorate. Preparing the programme marked a significant step forward in the choir’s artistic  development. Animato was founded and is directed by Olivia Kaczyńska.
