a chamber orchestra founded under the patronage of the Witold Lutosławski Society, focusing on performing the music of the 20th and 21st century.


It is composed by energetic, creative soloists and chamber musicians with a long experience in playing new music. The ensemble’s work is based on education, inviting young artists (often students) to music-making. 

For the last five years, the Chain Ensemble has regularly appeared at the Nowy Theatre in Warsaw, within the New Music Scene framework and during subsequent editions of the Witold Lutosławski Chain Festival. 

The Chain Ensemble’s initiator and artistic patron is Andrzej Bauer.
