Born in 1979 in Lviv, she completed her studies with Yuri Laniuk at Lviv’s Music Academy (2004), followed in 2007 by postgraduate studies. As a student she won the President of Ukraine, Oleh Krysa, and Gaude Polonia scholarships (the latter for studies in Zbigniew Bujarski’s composition class at the Cracow Academy of Music), twice winning the international Gradus ad Parnassum competition for composers.

She has been member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine since 2006. Her accolades include the Levko Revutsky Ukrainian State Award (2007), Boris Lyatoshynsky State Award (2015), and Ernst von Siemens Foundation scholarship (2009). She is a professor of musical arts with a PhD degree.

Her very close collaboration with Andrzej Chłopecki allowed her to write a PhD dissertation on contemporary Polish-Ukrainian music in Lviv (2009). It was to Chłopecki that she dedicated her White Angel (written for Agata Zubel), inspired by Salvador Dalí’s paintings. The success of this work led to a Cologne Deutschlandfunk commission for Metabola, premiered at the 2007 Warsaw Autumn by a Polish-German youth ensemble under Rüdiger Bohn, and later presented in Lviv and Cracow. The composer’s next Polish success was the 2008 performance of her Octagon, written for Andrzej Bauer’s cello octet, which she conducted herself.
