Lisbon-based percussionist focusing on creating and promoting new solo and chamber music, as well as new-format concerts that combine free improvisation with electronics and other media. He studied with Pedro Carneiro at the Escola Superior de Música in Lisbon. He collaborates with such composers as João Quinteiro, João Carlos Pinto, Carlos Lopes, Miguel Azguime, David Bird, Michael Maierhof, Cathy van Eck, and Elnaz Seyedi. His main projects are ASTRUS Duo, touchez, and an electronic improv-duo. He is a member of Ensemble Capdeville and a free-improvisation group working with the National Ballet Company. He also creates multidisciplinary events for children.
