Rytowski, Mikołaj
Polish percussionist, performer, and improviser based in Basel. His practice departs from the conventional understanding of percussion as a musical instrument and instead engages with sound and creativity through more organic and innovative means. He focuses on composer-performer collaboration, where apart from presenting the work, he engages in the process of its creation. As creator and improviser, he continuously explores the possibilities of percussion and electronic instruments, investigating routes for new combinations and sonic discoveries. He actively participates in leading festivals such as Donaueschinger Musiktage, Lucerne Festival, Rümlingen Festival, Zeiträume Festival, La Folle Journée, impuls academy, and the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music.
