Walentynowicz, Małgorzata
has performed at the most acclaimed contemporary music festivals such as Ultraschall, MaerzMusik, Berlin’s Heroines of Sound, Warsaw Autumn, Cologne’s Acht Brücken, Klangspuren Innsbruck, Musica Strasbourg, Rainy Days in Luxembourg, Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music, SPOR in Aahrus, KLANG, ISCM World New Music Days, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Musica Electronica Nova and Musica Polonica Nova in Wrocław, Sacrum Profanum, and Tzlil Meudcan in Tel Aviv.
Her accolades include the 1st prizes in the 37th Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition in Amsterdam and Yvar Mikhasho Trust competition for New Music in Buffalo, as well as the Darmstadt Summer Courses award for excellent interpretations and a nomination for Classical:NEXT Innovation Award in Rotterdam. She is a keen and frequent interpreter of works for piano, electronics, samplers, and visuals (video, photography, sculptures, drawings), as well as compositions employing elements of music theatre and performance art.
Walentynowicz performs solo, with orchestras and chamber ensembles. She plays the piano in Cologne’s Ensemble Garage and the Hague’s New European Ensemble. As a soloist she has appeared with Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the Polish Radio Orchestra, the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, OMN New Music Orchestra, Illinois Modern Ensemble, and Ensemble Neofonia.
She has recorded music under the WERGO, DUX, Kairos, Genuin, and Bôłt Records labels.
