Bass clarinettist and composer whose broad interests include sonic art, contemporary classical music, free improvisation, electronic music, rock, and noise. He has been entrusted with premiere performances of new works by eminent composers such as Karlheinz Stockhausen, Bernhard Lang, Chaya Czernowin, Peter Ablinger, Toshio Hosokawa, and Jonathan Harvey. He has played with the SWR Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, and Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, among others, with ensembles of such calibre as the Neue Vocalsolisten and Arditti Quartet, improvising musicians such as Michael Mantler, Elliott Sharp, and Frances Marie Uitti, artists working in the fields of electronic music (Robin Rimbaud “Scanner” and Merzbow) and multimedia (Christian Marclay and Peter Greenaway). Davis lives in Amsterdam.
