An actor by education and professional practice, he also directs spectacles, writes scripts, and composes theatre music. For several years he has worked as a voice actor recording, among others, radio commercials and e-learning courses. Since 2007, he has been an actor at Warsaw’s Guliwer Puppet Theatre, and previously – at Cracow’s Groteska Theatre. He graduated from the Wrocław Department of Puppetry of Cracow’s AST National Academy of Theatre Arts. His accolades as an actor include prizes at such events as the 8th International Festival of Children’s Theatres in Banja Luka, the 21st Toruń International Puppets Theatres Festival “Meetings,” the 34th International Theatrical Festival “Suitcase” in Łomża, and the 11th International Festival of Theatres of Animated Forms “Masquarade” in Rzeszów. In 2022 the Guliver Theatre’s production Can You Whistle, Joanna? which he co-directed with Anna Przygoda, as well as writing the music and playing one of the main roles, won the Grand Prix of the 14th International Puppet Theatre Festival “Katowice for Children.” Kowol has taken part in numerous workshops and educational projects. As a guest performer, he participated in Wrocław Opera ballet ensemble’s spectacles of Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida, Carl Orff ’s Carmina Burana, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. He has directed the final spectacles of the FAMA Academic Youth Arts Festival in Świnoujście. Kowol’s versatile activities include machine sewing, playing instruments, programming micro-controllers, writing books, designing furniture, and many others.
