Krych, Lilianna
Conductor of the young generation, member of the creative group of the Hahstag Ensemble contemporary music ensemble, within which she coleads the first Polish contemporary music stage Hashtag Lab, founder of the vocal ensemble Match Match Ensemble. She was nominated for the Polityka’s Passport Award in 2022, and is a participant in the Britten-Pears Young Artist programme in the 2023/24 season.
He artistic activity mainly focuses on is opera and contemporary music. She is fascinated by the interpenetration of disciplines: opera, theatre, music, visual arts, as well as working with voice, body, and movement. She treats music and theatre as a tool for analysing and commenting on reality.
She has worked with the Grand Theatre–National Opera and the Polish Royal Opera, where, as musical director, she has notably produced Benjamin Britten’s chamber operas The Rape of Lucretia and The Turn of the Screw. She is intrigued by contemporary operas and has prepared, among others, Salvatore Sciarrino’s Luci mie traditrici and Superflumina (New Opera Days Ostrava, Warsaw Autumn), as well as contemporary operas by Wojciech Blażejczyk, Karol Nepelski, and other composers. He is also involved in music education at all levels.
