Kołodziejczyk, Kaya
An independent artist-choreographer, she has worked with excellent theatre directors on Poland’s main stages. She has created many original projects, choreographies for films and theatre, as well as performance art. For many years she was a member of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker’s Rosas dance company in Belgium. She now appears in spectacles created by Mette Ingvartsen and Maja Kleczewska. She has authored choreographies for films by Agnieszka Smoczyńska (The Silent Twins, Fugue, Córki Dancingu / The Lure), Marta Karwowska (Fanfic) and Marcin Wrona (Demon). With Aleksandra Lemba she is an intimacy coordinator for films, television, and social campaigns. She teaches contemporary dance and composition at IRCAM Paris, the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, and the Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt.
Apart from her artistic career, Kaya is involved in community projects for children and teenagers and in the work of NGOs supporting equal rights regardless of age, race, ethnic origin, social status, health, and gender identity. She graduated from Warsaw’s Ballet School, P.A.R.T.S. Brussels, and HfMDK Frankfurt.
