He has recorded and performed with Polish stars of pop, jazz, alternative jazz, and the experimental scene.

He is the founder and leader of the Warsaw Dance Combo, which performs the traditional repertoire of the capital’s street orchestras. Together with pianist Marcin Masecki, he forms the Młynarski–Masecki Jazz Band, a group that draws on the tradition of prewar dance orchestras.
He recently released his own albums: Narkotyki with the band Brass Federacja (Mystic Production, 2023) and Gambit as JM Solo (U Jazz Me Records, 2024). His accolades include notably the City of Warsaw Award, ZAiKS Award, Polish Radio Channel 3’s Mateusz Award, and the Fryderyk Award.
Jan Emil Młynarski has been developing the concept of a solo percussion recital for several years. His instrument is a combination of ethnic drums and idiophones, traditional jazz percussion, and analog percussion modules. Using such a tool allows him to move between African and Polish rhythmic influences and combine them with the world of electronic music containing elements of techno, ambient, jungle, and breakbeat. The solo act is a search for balance between structure and emotion through a dialogue between form and improvisation.
