Born in 1989 in Puławy, he graduated in composition and music theory from the class of Anna Zawadzka-Gołosz at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow (MMus Hons degree, followed by a DMA). Kruk is the president of the Polish Composers’ Union’s Lublin Branch.

He has written more than eighty pieces, presented at contemporary music concerts and festivals. As a teacher, he worked for four years at the Academy of Music in Cracow (under Penderecki’s guidance, among others) and is now an assistant professor at the UMCS Faculty of Arts –Institute of Music in Lublin as well as a teacher at the Oskar Kolberg Music School Complex in Radom. He has conducted numerous masterclasses since 2016 (Niepołomice Summer Manufacture of Art, Wieliczka Academy of Inspirations, Composer Stage at Lusławice), teaching composition and (as the only artist in Poland) – musical saw playing. He has performed on that instrument notably with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra (at the inaugural concert of the 62nd Warsaw Autumn), Sinfonietta Cracovia (Eufonie Festival), and POR Polish Radio Orchestra. He has presented his compositions featuring musical saw at the Cracow International Festival of Composers, Musical Bridges festival, Generations concert series at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio, and Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice.

His accolades include numerous scholarships (including the prestigious Witold Lutosławski Scholarship), a composer.pl artistic residence (Iceland), Cracow City’s Artistic Scholarship, as well as classical music awards for outstanding achievements in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Musical Eagles competitions.
