Kwiatkowska, Anna
A violinist who has long specialised in chamber and solo contemporary music for the violin; co-head of Harmonies and Noises Music Foundation, with which she holds workshops for teenagers promoting most recent music. Many-time Minister of Culture scholarship holder, co-organiser and one of the teachers at Poland’s first New Music Summer Courses for Performers in Bydgoszcz.
Kwiatkowska has performed with the world’s leading contemporary music ensemble Musikfabrik, as well as with Chain Ensemble, flow unit (as a duo with cellist Mikołaj Pałosz and the trio flow unit 3 with pianist Adam Kośmieja), as well as in a duo with pianist Martyna Zakrzewska. Kwiatkowska’s discography includes Eidos (with pianist Joanna Opalińska, a Fryderyk Award nomination), Aure (with Mikołaj Pałosz), andIncorporate (dedicated to Kuba Krzewiński’s music). She collaborates with composers and premieres their new works. With flow unit 3, she recorded for the BBC Radio. Her repertoire includes the canon of 20thand 21st-century chamber and solo music for the violin. She also writes texts about new music for the Ruch Muzyczny magazine. She has long been an active violin tutor, educator, and lecturer Kwiatkowska has given performances at such festivals as the Warsaw Autumn, Audio Art, KODY / CODES, Musica Polonica Nova, the Poznań Music Spring, Beijing Chamber Music Festival, Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music, Musikfest Berlin, NeoArte – Synthesizer of Arts, Musica Privata, Łańcuch / Chain, and Trzy-Czte-Ry.
