Małgorzata Krej has trained in music, education, and psychology,  fields she brings together in her work with preschool- and schoolage children. At the heart of her educational and artistic practice  is a commitment to widening access to music education and, in  particular, involving children as active cocreators of music and  theatre projects. She regards education through art as a foundation for the social capabilities essential to a child’s development. In 2008, she founded Agatka Private Preschool in Warsaw: not  only a place of early-years education, but also a vigorous centre  of cultural activity. Each year, its choir and Parlando Theatre take  part in special educational projects, festivals, and competitions.  Between them, the ensembles have received numerous prizes and  distinctions, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze Bands in Choral  Academy competitions for the Agatka Preschool Choir; 1st Prize  at the 34th National HECA Festival of Children’s and Youth Theatre (2024); 1st Prize at the 22nd ASTERIADA Mazovian Festival of Children’s and Youth Arts (2024); and 2nd and 3rd Prize  as well as a Special Award in previous editions of the Warsaw  Young Theatre Festival for Parlando Theatre. Krej’s ensembles  also appear at festivals and events presented by Warsaw cultural  institutions, including the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute,  Mazovia Institute of Culture, Maria Grzegorzewska University,  and Warsaw Centre for Cultural Education.

A central principle of Krej’s educational and artistic work is to  support children’s development by surrounding them with art  created by professional artists. As a volunteer, she organised  a concert devoted to the music of Edward Pałłasz, with the composer present, in 2019, and a concert dedicated to Dorota Gellner,  attended by the poet, in 2020. She has repeatedly invited pupils  from Warsaw’s general and music schools to take part in the artistic projects she devises. A graduate in education from the University of Warsaw, in music  from the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in  Łódź, and in psychology from the Varsovia University of Business  and Applied Sciences, Krej combines her education, experience,  and long-standing commitment to nurturing children’s creative  potential. Her work supports the formation of their social and cultural identities and, in turn, the wellbeing of children and their  families.
