grows out of an interest in touch as a fundamental means of  establishing a relationship with sound. In this work, the string  instruments are treated not merely as sources of pitch and timbre,  but also as physical objects offering resistance to the performers’  hands. Sound emerges here as a trace of gesture, pressure, friction, and contact.
