Synergies - François-Bernard Mâche
is work for orchestra (twenty-one instruments) and five magnetic tracks is drawn from the “Collective Concert” of the Groupe de Recherches Musicales, which was performed at the Paris Conservatoire concert hall on 15 March 1963 under the direction of Charles Bruck. The event was a gathering of musical proposals (notated or on tape) with the aim of obtaining an entire concert of nine proprietary works. Roughly one third of my composition thus refers to proposals by several other composers such as Luc Ferrari, Ivo Malec, and Michel Philippot, which have been rewritten or subjected to electronic manipulations.
