Kiełki czasu / Sprouts of Time - Aleksandra Bilińska
A tooth, a seed, a flower bud: Xawery Wolski’s sculpture deliberately evokes all three. Monumental in scale and cast in bronze, it may be read as a tribute to nature’s unbroken continuity. Small and insubstantial as they seem, seeds can survive for centuries in hostile conditions before finally germinating. The sculpture thus becomes a symbol that fires the viewer’s imagination and speaks directly to the senses.
What, then, did the children hear and see in this extraordinary sculpture? Sprouts of Time offers the answer: a musical tale and a soundscape poised at the threshold between light and shadow. The piece seeks neither high drama nor ready-made answers. It is more like a photograph in the making, its image slowly emerging and gathering definition. With the lightest of touches, it tells a story by conjuring the atmosphere in which it unfolds. Time does not flow: it sprouts within us.
