Isphording, Gośka
Harpsichordist working in the fields of contemporary and experimental music. Residing in Netherlands, she is an indefatigable ambassador of Polish music abroad.
She graduated from the Academy of Music in Cracow and the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague. She has developed her contemporary harpsichord music performance skills at masterclasses with Elżbieta Chojnacka at the Salzburg Mozarteum and Annelie de Man at the Amsterdam Conservatoire, where she now teaches a contemporary harpsichord class.
She is the dedicatee of more than a hundred solo and chamber music works written with her as a performer in mind, including five harpsichord concertos: by Hanna Kulenty (GG Concerto, 2009), Roderik de Man (Le Clavecin illuminé, 2012), Andrzej Kwieciński (Concerto. Re Maggiore, 2013), Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil (Ao-Tea-Roa, 2019), and Evan Johnson (Linke Hand eines Apostels, 2019).
She has appeared as a soloist at prestigious contemporary music festivals such as Huddersfield, ICMC (Barcelona), Gaida (Vilnius), Transit (Leuven), Klangzeit Festival (Münster), Cutting Edge Festival (London), Progetto Musica/Musica Experimento (Rome), November Music Festival (‘s-Hertogenbosch), Holland Festival (Amsterdam), and in Poland at Warsaw Autumn, Musica Polonica Nova, Audio Art, Codes, Cracow Composers’ Music Days, and the Festival of Polish Music.
She has performed with Asko|Schönberg, Insomnio Ensemble, and Musikfabrik; she is a permanent member of the London-based Riot Ensemble.
Her recordings have been presented on the air by prestigious radio broadcasters: BBC3, Radio4 NL, France Musique, and NDR, as well as released on CDs.
Isphording is the soloist in choreographer Jan Martens’ most recent project FUTUR PROCHE for Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, premiered at the Avignon Festival in July this year.
